Deletion is free, needs no active subscription, and cannot be undone. A parent or guardian on the account asks for it, and the whole household goes at once.
1. Who this is for
This page is about Bloom to College, the college-planning service made by Taspara Solutions LLC (“Bloom,” “we,” or “us”). It covers the family account: the parent's login, every student profile under it, and everything either of them put into Bloom.
Deleting a whole Bloom household is a parent or guardian instruction. A student or a counselor cannot erase a family's records, and the endpoint that does the erasing refuses anyone who is not a parent on the account.
2. Erase the account inside Bloom
Bloom has one in-product button that erases a whole household, and it lives on one page: the page a family sees once its plan has ended. We would rather tell you that than describe a button you will not find.
If your plan has ended, the steps are:
- Sign in as the parent at bloomtocollege.com/login. A household whose plan has ended lands on “Your plan has ended” — if you land somewhere else, open Billing and follow What happens to our data.
- Scroll past the export links to Delete this account and everything in it and press it.
- Read the warning, type DELETE in the box, and press Delete everything.
- Bloom erases the household and signs you out. There is no confirmation step after this one, and no undo.
If your plan is still active, that page is not shown to you and the button is not there. Ask us instead, as below. Settings has a separate Remove action for a single student; that removes one child's record from a household that continues, and it is not account deletion.
3. Ask us
The other way — and the one to use if your plan is active, if you are not sure, or if you cannot reach the page above — is to tell us. Inside Bloom, open Send feedback from Contact Bloom (linked from Billing as “Questions? Get in touch”), choose A question, and write that you want the account deleted. That is the support channel our Privacy Policy points at for account data.
We verify who is asking before we disclose or delete anything about a family. Expect us to confirm with the parent on the account before anything is erased.
4. What is erased
Erasure is per household, not per person: the unit that goes is the family store, with every student in it. That means every student's records — transcripts and grades, college lists and applications, essays, uploaded documents and files, Learning Lab history, and the AI's memory of your family.
- The family's database is dropped, after the family is first made unroutable so nothing can still be served from it.
- The family's file namespace is purged, and the purge is verified rather than assumed.
- The identity and routing records are deleted — the rows that let anything find the household at all, including its School Inbox forwarding address.
- Testimonials you submitted are withdrawn, asked for back before the store goes rather than after.
- The research contribution is removed. Leaving the research lane deletes what it held from your household.
The family's own activity log goes down with the rest. That is correct: the trail is the family's, and erasure means erasure.
5. What is kept
Narrow fraud-prevention, payment, security, or legal records may remain where we are required to keep them. That is the whole exception, and we do not claim a second one on this page.
6. Cancelling is not erasing
Cancelling a subscription stops future renewal. It does not, by itself, delete your family's records — the cancellation prompt inside Bloom says so in as many words: your family's data is never deleted, and you can keep viewing and exporting it afterward. That is deliberate, so a family has time to take a copy before closing the account.
If you want the records gone as well, ask for deletion separately, using either route above.
7. Export first
Exports are free, need no request and no wait, and are available before you erase anything: a parent can download the whole-family ZIP, with the actual files, and each student's record as CSV, PDF, or full JSON. They live on the profile page under Your data, on the Billing page, and on the same plan-has-ended page that carries the delete button.
8. Timing
The erasure runs when the request runs. The household stops being served first, its files are purged and its database dropped, and its routing records are deleted last — all within the one request, which reports success only when every step is verified. If a step cannot be completed, Bloom tells you so instead of reporting success, and the deletion is retried rather than left half done.
Our backups run daily with roughly a week of point-in-time recovery, so a copy of a dropped database can persist in that backup window before it ages out.
